l  Basic Information

The Grain and Oils Quality and Safety Research Institute is committed to scientific research in the fields of development and evaluation of rapid inspection technology and equipment for grain and oils quality and safety, inspection, monitoring and early warning of mycotoxin in grain and oils, and construction and development of a grain and oils reference material system. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), the institute has undertaken 65 vertical projects and 137 horizontal ones, with scientific research funding of nearly RMB 48 million; it has presided over the formulation and revision of 40 national and industry standards; it has published more than 130 academic papers, including 25 in SCI and SSCI publications. Besides, more than 200 reference materials and quality control samples have been developed, including 69 national certified reference materials. The cumulative value of scientific and technological achievements commercialization has reached more than RMB 2 million.

l  Research Direction

Development and evaluation of rapid inspection technology and equipment for grain and oil quality and safety. The institute mainly carries out research on accurate, rapid, multi-objective, environmentally friendly and green detection technology for grain and oil quality and safety; research on the identification and screening technology of potential hazards for grain and oil quality and safety; development and application evaluation of rapid inspection products for grain and oil quality and safety; rapid, high-throughput, automated and intelligent grain and oil sample pre-processing technology and R&D of new product devices; research, formulation, dynamic tracking and re-evaluation of grain and oil quality and safety technical standards.

Research on the detection, monitoring, prediction and early warning of grain and oils mycotoxin. It mainly carries out research on basic theories and technical methods of grain and oil quality and safety risk assessment; R&D of grain and oil quality and safety risk assessment and early warning models; quality and safety risk assessment and monitoring on the grain and oil circulation chain; construction of a quality and safety monitoring database and a comprehensive early warning platform.

Construction and development of a grain and oils reference material system, and research on technology development and preparation. It mainly carries out technical research on the stability, uniformity and traceability of grain and oils reference materials; research on high-precision and high-accuracy value assignment (fixed value) technology for grain and oil reference materials; development of various forms and different series of grain and oils reference materials, including from solution forms to complex forms, and from single component to composite components. It increases efforts in the development of reference materials in oils and fats that are of high concern, high detection frequency, and urgently needed indicators, etc. It provides technical support and guarantee for various quality related activities such as proficiency testing, laboratory comparison assessment and collaborative valuation for national grain inspection, testing and monitoring agencies.
