l  Basic Information

The Grain Storage and Transportation Research Institute is committed to grain condition monitoring, analysis and early warning, pests and mildew control, quality control, safe grain storage technology, warehousing and logistics informatization, drying technology and equipment, and safe production, etc. Currently, the institute is undertaking 11 vertical research projects and 23 horizontal ones, with scientific research funding of more than RMB 24 million; it has presided over the formulation and revision of 21 national and industry standards; it has applied for more than 20 patents; it has published 99 academic papers, including 15 included in SCI and SSCI journals; it has won 7 awards at the provincial and ministerial level and above. The cumulative value of scientific and technological achievements commercialization has reached more than RMB 8 million.

l  Research Direction

Research on the control of grain pests and mildew. The institute mainly builds basic databases on the biology and ecology of stored grain pests, studies prevention and control technology mechanisms and pest monitoring and early warning technologies, and develops and optimizes green, ecological prevention and control technologies. Besides, it also carries out stored grain mold fauna surveys, online monitoring, equipment testing, and R&D of prevention and control technology in a bid to establish a mildew monitoring, early warning and prevention system.

Research on grain drying and grain safety. The institute mainly carries out research on the theoretical technology and equipment in the fields of grain post-production cleaning, energy saving, and environmentally friendly drying. It also conducts a series of research on safety inspection and evaluation, early warning and standard research on hazard sources, production, and emergency rescue.

Research on grain storage technology. The institute mainly carries out research on new grain storage technologies, and new technologies, equipment and standards based on the grain storage ecological theory and the upgraded “four-in-one” new technology. Furthermore, on the basis of the grain pile multi-field coupling theory, it conducts R&D of the grain storage safety “early awareness” technical system and builds a supervision platform.
