The China-Australia wheat with wheat and noodle quality symposium jointly organized by the ASAG, Australia Grain Growers and COFCO was convened on February 23, 2012 in Beijing Presidential Plaza Hotel.
The conference was also the achievement show of the collaborative research project "wheat with wheat and noodle quality" between ASAG and Australian Grain Research Institute, the theme of the meeting was to explore influence of match wheat on wheat flour and noodle quality, provide technological solutions to improve the quality of noodle products.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Li Fujun, the chief engineer of ASAG, and Dr. Ken Quail of Australia Grain Growers. Mr. Sang Lei, the vice manager of wheat department of the COFCO, and Mr. John Eastburn, the president of Australia Grain Growers, took part in the conference. 10 delegates from Australian Research institute and Association of Wheat Growers and over 70 delegates from China's domestic famous wheat flour and noodle production companies, trading companies, storage and transportation enterprises and research institutions attended the seminar. Dr. Ken Quail and Mr. Sidi Huang from Australia Grain Growers, Dr. Sun Hui from ASAG and Mr. Chen Zhihua from Wuxi COFCO Engineering Science and Technology Co., Ltd. gave oral presentations respectively which related to China-Australia match wheat with wheat project and its findings, the demand for quality noodle to wheat quality and Australia wheat quality classification as well as Chinese wheat noodles processing quality. Mr. Wang Zhenbing from COFCO did a special report about the match wheat with wheat project of the COFCO Group in Xinxiang China.
